VEC Customers Affected by Vehicle Accident

A car accident Saturday afternoon affected approximately 1,300 Volunteer Energy Cooperative customers in Bradley County.  The car struck a three-phase pole on Freewill Road approximately 3 p.m., causing power to be interrupted.

Crews were able to switch feeder lines and restore power to approximately 800 customers within 45 minutes.  However, approximately 500 customers were without electric service until repairs were made around 10:30 p.m.

VEC officials apologize for the inconvenience to its customers.
